Identity formation in our times is going through big transformations. The traditional categories of identity the way we know of are slowly fading into the history and new categories are emerging with the help of global culture. However, the difference between the new and old categories are not as sharp either. The boundaries are becoming less distinct and they are blending into each other’s territory seamlessly. All in all, new identities are taking hybrid character and also embodying old identities similar to collage juxtapositions. To differentiate their class status and taste, one might look at their choice of consumption and what kind of signifying badges they are wearing. Usage of original brand name and the fake one might indicate the low-income and high-income background of their bearers. While a worn green parka is traditionally indicates left ideological tendencies (unless it’s the latest fashion fad of the season), a certain cut mustache might reveal the person’s religious practice.

Giyilen eski yuzlu yesil parka (eger o senenin modasi degilse) sol egilimi simgelerken, biyigin belli sekildeki  kesimi dinci gencleri ayirdeder.
